Empowering women is my purpose
In my twenties, I opened a bridal boutique to empower my mother. She was a skilled designer and had worked for others underpaid and overworked. I knew she had the skill to make dreams come true for brides. She did. She thrived. We lifted each other.
I will lift you.
In my thirties, after meeting the love of my life and marrying my husband Michael, I changed careers again. I entered real estate and it thrilled me to empower women financially through property investments. I eventually managed the sales of "off the plan" property in the Kensignton Banks Development in Kensignton, Melbourne. Which won the Grand Prix world's most livable development. Buyers would send me flowers! What drove me was my passion for guiding women and young couples to invest in real estate.
I will guide you.
In my forties, ears of unexplained infertility, and failed IVF we moved to Adelaide. I created a beautiful gift store in a new city to empower myself. I knew no one and I decided I needed to create something beautiful that would also financially empower me. Like I financially empowered my mother. Like I financially empowered the women who I guided to invested in real estate.
I will empower you.
So when I say I empower women, I have put my heart, skill, and money into championing women most of my career.
I loved my store, my staff, and my clients. It was a successful gift store with devoted clients. I would give clients little personal tours around the store. I loved it all. Yet, I knew I wanted to do more. I wanted to make a bigger impact.
I wanted to truly change women's lives again.
I sold my beautiful gift store. And as I turned 50 and hit menopause, my childless grief hit me again. I realized I needed support and I found Jody Day at Gateway Women. I went through the online B program which explained to me what I was feeling and why. I started to mentor women (and men) in small businesses. I was hesitant at first and yet it came naturally to me. Years of business, sales, and personal development guided me. I decided to get certified as a professional life coach. Now I personally coach women one to one to create a life they love.
I am empowering women once again.
You can't run from your destiny, only run towards it. Eventually, we are called by our heart's desire. So here I am, a coach, with the desire to empower women. How do I do that? Truly empower women, and not just motivate them? Because we all know motivation doesn't last.
I believe empowerment comes from listening to our soul's desire.
How do you listen to our soul's desire? Asking the right questions and deep listening to the small still voice in your heart. And allowing yourself to be vulnerable to the right people. To quote one of my mentor's Jody Day the founder of Gateway Women, a support and friendship network for childless women, "are you going to the hardware store for milk?" You need to go to the right place for support.
Who do you take your vulnerability and heart's desires to?
Do they have the skill to listen to you, without judgment? To guide you to your full potential? This life is your one glorious messy life, and only you can decide how you want to live it. You know what makes you happy, how you find contentment, and what fulfills you. The coach you choose needs to have empathy, training, and a willingness to let you take the lead and create your own destiny.
Great coaches create transformation by being egoless and supportive. Uncovering the gold within you. Revealing the real you. You will create goals and strategies to get you what you want. What stops us from getting what we want? Believing we are not good enough. Let me tell you this. Who you are is enough. Yes, you are enough.
You are enough just the way you are.
If your mind or heart is resisting that statement, sit with it. I can help you shift the belief that you are not good enough. If your mind and heart are curious by the concept that you are good enough already, you have come to the right place.
I am here for you.
I will help you to believe you are truly good enough. And perfect just the way you are. I love the line in the movie Bridget Jones, when Mark Darcy says "I like you, very much. Just as you are." And her friend asks, "He likes you just the way you are? Not a little bit better?"
A great coach will help you build your self-esteem. We have tools to help you uncover your values, what motivators drive you, and what makes you feel happy and fulfilled.
When you know what you truly want, you will take the steps to create a life you love.
It is my life's purpose is to empower women and childless and childfree women are close to my heart. It's a big purpose in a world dominated by Patriarchy. The Patriarchy created a system that makes women feel less than. Challenging women's self-doubt and empowering women to feel good enough, smart enough, brave enough is my mission.
